Upgrading Our Existing Conference Technology
Our company installed video conferencing equipment about five years ago, and it's showing its age. The cameras are low resolution, the microphones pick up every keyboard click, and integrating with modern platforms is clunky.
Rather than completely starting over, I'm exploring whether we can upgrade components incrementally.
Has anyone successfully upgraded existing systems, or is it generally better to rip everything out and start fresh? We already have good displays and the AV wiring and cable management services infrastructure seems solid. Wondering if we can just swap out cameras and audio equipment while keeping the bones of the system.
Budget is a concern since we'd need to do five conference rooms. Also trying to avoid extended downtime since these rooms are constantly booked. Any recommendations on phasing an upgrade project? Or am I being penny wise and pound foolish by not doing a complete overhaul? Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's navigated similar upgrade decisions.
